Lena (Prochnow) Koeppen, 92, a former Kiel resident, died Friday afternoon, May 10, 1991, at Calumet Homestead, New HOlstein, where she had been a resident for the past three years.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Monday at St. James United Church of Christ, Spring Valley. Rev. William Kefting will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
She was born January 26, 1899, in the town of Liberty, Manitowoc County, daughter of the late Fred and Henritta [Henrietta Zuelsdorf] Zulsdorf Lutzke. In May of 1919 she married William Prochnow in the town of Liberty. He preceded her in death in September of 1962. In May of 1066 she married Henry Koeppen at St. James United Church of Christ, Spring Valley. She and Henry lived in the town of Meeme until 1978 when they moved to Kiel. She was a member of St. James United Church of Christ, Spring Valley, and an honorary member of the Ladies Aid.
Survivors include her husband, who is a resident of Calumet Homestead; a son and daughter-in-law, William and Dorothy Prochnow of San Marcos, Calif.; thress daughters and sons-in-law, Lorraine and Fred Reese of Brillion, Mavis Gutschow of Kiel, Audrey and Leonard Tysver of New London; 18 grandchildren; 32 great grandchildren; 4 great great grandchildren; 12 step grandchildren; 19 step great grandchildren; a step son, Melvin and Georgene Lutzke of St. Nazianz; a daughter-in-law Penny Prochnow of Honolulu, Hawaii. She was preceded in death by a son, Lester, four brothers, four sisters, a half sister, a great grandchild, two step grandchildren and three sons-in-law.
