NORFOLK - Woodrow Alexander Sr. of 606 W. 27th St., the husband of Mrs. Thelma Alexander and a native of Tyrrell County, died Monday.

He retired after 10 years with Ames & Webb and 22 years with Norfolk Southern Railroad. He was a member of Wesley Union AMEZ Church and its steward board.

Other survivors include four daughters, Miss Shirley Alexander, Mrs. Violet Spruill, Miss Gloria Alexander, and Miss Karen Alexander of Norfolk; Woodrow Alexander Jr. of Chesapeake and Larry Alexander of Norfolk; four sisters, Mrs. Mary Hill of Plymouth, N.C., Miss Dorothy Alexander, Mrs. Pearl Hill, and Mrs. Lyna Fenner of Tyrrell County; a brother, A.D. Alexander of Los Angeles, Calif.;and six grandchildren.

A funeral will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. in Wesley Union AMEZ Church by the Rev. Gary Johnson Jr. Burial will be in Roosevelt Memorial Park, Chesapeake. The family will be at Metropolitan Funeral Home Thursday night from 7 to 8.
