He married his high school sweetheart, Lois Anne Cluer, on June 9, 1942, in Hagerman, Idaho. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Seattle, Wash., LDS Temple. This union was blessed with six children, Norma (Warren Hutcheson), Pamela (Larry Jones), Terry (Anna), Jeff (Sharon), Randy (Nicki) and Roger (Janna).
He was an active member of the LDS church and served in several positions. Dal serviced his country in the United States Navy during World War II. He was a proud member of the American Legion Elmer Miller Post 19.
He was proud of being a remarkable auto and farm machinery parts man prior to the invention of such aids as the computer. He knew every part number and valued his ability to quickly locate needed parts for his customers by memory. He also was a farmer, helped to build Oregon's largest earth-filled dam and handyman.
Dal was a mentor to his children, instilling a work ethic and sense of community that has been passed on to multiple generations of our family. His children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren will carry forward many memories of his sense of humor and ability to instigate a good water fight without ever getting a drop of water on him.
He is survived by his wife Lois Anne; his sister, Ilene Miller of Twin Falls; his six children; 34 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren and still counting
