Harold "Pappy" Dunlap
Houston - Harold Junior "Pappy" Dunlap, 94, passed away on Wednesday, March 13, 2019 at Floy Dyer Manor. He was born on April 7, 1924 in Missouri to Clara Gore. He served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II. Pappy was a hard worker, moving all over the United States for various jobs from the age of nine. Some of the jobs he held included migrant farm worker, railroad worker, and lastly, working as steel worker in Wisconsin.
Funeral services will be on Monday, March 18, 2019 at 2:00 at Southern Funeral Chapel with Brother Johnny Cherry officiating. Burial will follow in Macedonia Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be Sunday, March 17 from 5:00 until 7:00 at Southern Funeral Chapel.
He is survived by his son, Jerry (Alice) Dunlap of Michigan; his daughter, Shirley King of Houston; thirteen grandchildren, including his caretaker/granddaughter, Jamie Blakeney of Houston; twenty-four great-grandchildren; and 21 great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Pauline Franks Dunlap; and a daughter, Bobbie Martin.
