She was born on July 18, 1926 at the family home in Fountain Green Township the daughter of Carl and Jessie McConnell Hasten.
Margie attended eight years of grade school at Eagle School and graduated from LaHarpe High School in 1944. She worked at Sheaffer Pen Company in Ft. Madison, Iowa from 1944 until 1947 and IAAP in Burlington, Iowa for seven years.
She married Lee Walker on August 23, 1947 in Carthage, IL. Lee preceded her in death on May 15, 2004. Together they had six children.
Mrs. Walker was a member of the Fountain Green Presbyterian Church, Club 16 and Senior Citizens Center in LaHarpe. Over the years Margie served on several of the church boards including Elders, Trustees and Deacons. She was a Sunday School Teacher in several different classes and assisted with Bible School for many years.
She loved her family and friends and has made a positive influence on so many people. Her strong Christian Faith has been witnessed by all who knew her.
Mrs. Walker was preceded in death three sons, Ronnie, Randy and Michael Shawn Walker, one daughter, Dixie Castlebury, four brothers, Lyman, Carl Jr., Jim and Bill Hasten and two sisters, Jean Blumer and Christine DeHaven.
