Ruth Riggs Welch Burns, 90, of Moultrie, died Tuesday, March 12, 2019 at Cobblestone Health and Rehabilitation Center.

Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Friday, March 15, 2019 at Pine Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. Stanley Norman officiating. Interment will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery.

Casketbearers will be Andy Strickland, Tim Strickland, Jeff Baker, Tommy Strickland, Doug Riggs and Danny Riggs. Roger May will serve as an honorary casketbearer.

Born September 8, 1928 in Doerun, she was the daughter of the late Elijah Thomas Riggs and Georgia Belle Parker Riggs.

Mrs. Burns spent most of her life as a bookkeeper and retired from White Stores in Wichita Falls, Texas. She made her home in Wichita Falls for twenty years with, as she said, " the love of my life, my husband," Rocky" Ray Burns!"

She was a member of Pine Grove Baptist Church. ""Miss Ruth" touched the lives of many friends and family with her strength and character and her love of Jesus. She had a loving disposition and caring heart, was a prayer warrior, and loved her family, including her poodle, Buffie. She lived her life for the Lord with love for everyone", her family remembered.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Ray Welch; her second husband, Ray Burns; her son, Tillman Elijah Welch; her brother-in-law, John A. Kelly; and a grandson-in-law, Kirck Shaffers.

Survivors include her sister, Eunice Kelly of Moultrie; special daughter-in-law, Betty Lou Welch, special grandson, Joey Videtto and special granddaughter, Michelle Arizola; a step-daughter, Cindy Burns of Leigh High Acres, Fl; grandchildren, Tracey Calhoun and Jeff, Angela Lowe and Victor, Christa Shaffers, Brandie Lynn Reagel, Chayla Welch, Kerrie Welch and Allisha Welch; twenty-nine great-great grandchildren; twelve great-great-great grandchildren.
