Claire Bennett of Sunset, Utah, a loving and caring mother and grandmother to many, passed peacefully March 10, 2019 and is now with her heavenly family. Claire was born in Woonsocket, Rhode Island to Leo Marcil and Rina Farland Marcil. Surviving Claire are her children Denise Bennett of Long Beach, CA, Linda Duguay of Woonsocket, RI, Nancy Conary of Richmond, RI, Alicia, Todd, Michelle and Rudy Bennett all of Sunset, Utah. Claire was a beloved grandmother( Memere) to Jessica Taylor of Portsmouth, VA, Keith and Sara Duguay of Woonsocket, RI, Jeremy Conary of Providence RI and great-grandmother too many. Claire has now rejoined her eternal companion Romeo Bennett, daughters Louise and Cha, along with many other family members who have previously passed.
Claire attended Holy Ghost Practical School of Nursing in Cambridge, Mass. and graduated May 22, 1955. This was the beginning of her life-long commitment to helping others. Claire met her husband Romeo during one of her many deep sea fishing trips. They were married April 7, 1956 and later sealed in the temple.
Claire and her husband opened their home and hearts to close to 50 disabled children and infants born under the influence of illegal drugs, providing foster care and adopting a handful. Claire made it her mission to fight for mentally and disabled children. Claire and her husband were awarded the Jefferson Award at a ceremony in Washington DC. An award given to acknowledge and appreciate humanitarian, they were honored for their efforts and courage in fighting for children who couldn't speak for themselves.
Claire joined the LDS church and relocated her family from Rhode Island to Utah in 1993. She was an active member of the Sunset 4th ward, having served in various callings, always willing to help where she could.
Claire was an amazing selfless woman who put everyone's needs before her own. Her sweet, funny, feisty and loving spirit will be tremendously missed by many.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 16, 2019, 11:00 AM. Sunset 4th Ward, 220 West 975 North, Sunset, Utah. Interment in Evergreen Memorial Park.
