Thomas M. Luby, 74, of Tonawanda, died Tuesday, Nov. 8, 2016.
Mr. Luby was born on May 8, 1942, in Concordia, Kansas. He moved to Cheektowaga as a child and then lived in the Town of Tonawanda after his years of service in the U.S. Navy.
A graduate of Maryvale High School, Mr. Luby served in the Navy from 1961 to 1965. He returned home to work at Sears as a shipping clerk for 38 years until his retirement in 2004.
Mr. Luby was a member and past commander of Melvin J. Brounshidle Post 205 in Kenmore. He was also a volunteer driver for the American Red Cross and volunteered at bingo night at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center through the American Legion.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley; three children, Michele, Cheryl and Thomas; seven siblings, Catherine, Mary Ellen, James, retired Col. Jerome, Laura, Martha, Timothy; and four grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held on Nov. 12 from St. Amelia Church. Arrangements were made by Amigone Funeral Home Inc.
