In 2004, Mark graduated from Jeb Stuart High School in Falls Church, Virginia, and in August of 2005, he enlisted in the United States Army. He served in the Field Artillery Branch at Fort Sill, Oklahoma. He was deployed to Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom, where he attained the rank of Sergeant. During his service, he earned the Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal, Afghanistan Campaign Ribbon, NATO Ribbon, Combat Action Badge, and 3/27 Battalion Soldier of the Quarter (2007). He was honorably discharged in 2009.
Our Mark was a sweet soul who cared deeply about the people God placed in his life and invested his time, energy, and talents to bless all who knew him. Family gatherings were special to him, as he relished opportunities to celebrate the passing seasons and their holidays. We look forward to the day when Christ returns to take us with Him to His kingdom, where we will be reunited to enjoy His presence with those we love around His banquet table in Heaven.
“Come, Lord Jesus” Revelation 22:20
