Tony worked for W.L. Gore Associates for over 30 years retiring in 2013. He enjoyed doing pencil sketches, and was quite talented. Tony liked to hunt for arrowheads along the beach, and furthered this hobby by learning to knap arrowheads from rock and glass. Retirement allowed him to spend more time with his friends shooting pool and riding his Harley Davidson, which he kept in pristine condition. Tony had a natural affinity for the water where he would go swimming, cliff diving, and kayaking. His joy in water even extended to the frozen variety where he would spend hours plowing snow for the neighborhood on his four wheeler. Tony enjoyed traveling to the Outer Banks and taking Caribbean Cruises.
Tony is survived by his wife of 38 years, Marsha Bailey; three daughters: Jennifer Jones, Laura Johansen and Kelley Bailey; five grandchildren: Mitchell and Michael Johansen, Lilly Whelan, Mervin Jones and Tory Smith; brothers, Phillip Bailey, Tim VanDyke, and Jeffrey VanDyke; and sister, Joetta Ball. In addition to his parents, Tony was preceded in death by his brother Terry Bailey; and step-father, Joseph VanDyke.
Burial at North East Methodist Cemetery.
