David Lee Meredith, beloved husband, father, brother, and friend, went to be with the Lord on September 4, 2018. He passed surrounded by the family he loved so much.
Dave was born in Sidell, IL, to Edmund and Grace Meredith. Following a youth filled with the typical adventures of a rural Midwest upbringing, he attended Eastern Illinois University earning a bachelor's degree in business. He turned it into a career in finance and as an insurance adjuster. Upon retiring, he took a position as groundskeeper at the USAFA golf course to enjoy the people and scenic beauty.
In 1954, Dave met the love of his life, Claudette. Four years later they were married. Their almost 60 years together was filled with love, laughter, challenge, and the joy of family. Their life together modeled what a marriage is meant to be. He taught his children to face life's challenges and joys with a sense of humor, for which he was famous, and faith in God.
Dave lent his impressive bass voice to church choir, light opera, and quartets. He loved golf and old cars. He cherished his time hunting in the mountains with the guys, joking, and telling stories. He was an amazing "people person" who loved using his extraordinary personality to make them smile. Above all, he loved his wife and family and made certain they knew it. The world is forever less bright for his loss.

The family will hold a private memorial service. They ask that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Pikes Peak Hospice, 2550 Tenderfoot Hill Street, Colorado Springs, CO 80906
