Brenda Louise Burris, age 73, of Centralia, Illinois, passed away at 6:21 A.M. on Wednesday, April 10, 2013 at Good Samaritan Regional Health Care Center in Mount Vernon, Illinois. She was born on July 21, 1939 in Centralia, Illinois, the daughter of John Allen Barnes and Minnie Lee (West) Barnes Baxter. She married Harold Rudder, Nathaniel Jones and then Michael Burris and they all preceded her in death.

In addition to her husbands, Mrs. Burris was preceded in death by her parents, daughter Rosemary Rudder, brother Hector Barnes, maternal grandmother Sue West and paternal grandmother Viola Jackson and niece Kathy Barnes.

Mrs. Burris was a Christian in Christ who was a member of the New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church in Centralia, Illinois and was involved with the kitchen crew. She was a member of the NAACP and the Matron Club in Centralia. She enjoyed quilting, sewing and reupholstering and also drinking her Pepsi, visiting the casino, playing bingo and bowling. Mrs. Burris loved the time she spent with her family especially her grandchildren.

Mrs. Burris was a cook's helper at BCMW Headstart in Centralia, Illinois and was previously employed with Littlelfuse in Centralia, Illinois. She has lived her whole life in Centralia, Illinois.
