Jordan M. Stevenson, 85, passed away Sunday, March 10, 2019. He was born on September 25, 1933 in Stanford, Kentucky to the late Jordan Lewis and Fannie (Snodgrass) Stevenson. Mr. Stevenson was wed to Birdie Smith on June 22, 1958. They celebrated 58 years of marriage until her passing on December 7, 2016. Jordan served his country proudly in the United States Air Force and received seven medals. After his retirement from the military, he further helped fellow veterans while employed at the VA Medical Center in Lexington. He loved to bowl, listen to music, garden, and maintained an impeccably beautiful lawn. He was a truly dedicated fan of University of KY basketball and football. Jordan was always there to lend a hand to a friend or neighbor in need. He was never one to pass judgement and there was no question regarding his love and dedication to his family. His love, honor, and faith will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. Jordan is survived by his daughter, Michelle Stevenson-Williams and his brother, Ernest (Lovia) Stevenson. In addition to his parents and wife, Birdie, Jordan was preceded in death by his sisters, Lillian Dunn and Othola Gibbs as well as three brothers, Everhart, Raymond, and AY Stevenson. Burial will be in Camp Nelson National Cemetery, Jessamine County, Kentucky.
