Bettie Jo Acker Hargrove (95) was born to parents Ray Acker and Estelle Wooten Acker on November 25, 1927, in Hobbs, Texas.
She married the love of her life Bernice Alton Hargrove on December 15, 1946, in Rotan, Texas. They were married 35 wonderful years until his death in 1981. They made their life together farming and ranching. Bernice and Bettie had four children – David, Walter, Neal, and Martha.
Bettie is preceded in death by her husband Bernice, parents Ray and Estelle Acker, daughter-in-law Connie Hargrove, sisters Peggy Bagwell and Doris Cross, and an infant brother Forrest.
She is survived by her children David Hargrove (Geneva); Walter Hargrove (Deana); Neal Hargrove (Donna); and Martha Cox (Dale); grandchildren Clay Hargrove, Jason Hargrove, Dustin Hargrove, Sabra Preston, Jordan Cox, Jacob Cox, Haley Phillips, Kaylee Harris, and Kaysi Henderson; several great and great-great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the Heritage House and Kent County Nursing Home for their loving care and kindness toward our mother.
A celebration of life will be held at First Baptist Church of Rotan, Texas at 11:45 a.m. on Wednesday, March 29, 2023.
