Clarence was the son of Fred and Emma Hauswirth. He was a farmer. He married Clarice Josephine Lucas, daughter of William Franklin and Nettie Saphrona Covell Lucas, in Havelock, Iowa on 21 February 1917. They had four children: Lois Naomi, Ronald, Avis and Gerald. Lois and Avis are buried beside their parents. The parents of both Clarence and Clarice are buried in this cemetery.
