Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday Aug. 9 at the Penzien Funeral Homes, Inc., in East Jordan, Pastor Michael Smith of the Ironton Congregational Church will officaitate.
Interment will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery East Jordan.
Betty was born on March 21, 1952, in Charlevoix, the daughter of Donald and Barbara (Bader) Shepard.
She graduated from East Jordan High School in 1970.
Then on Aug. 26, 1970 in Berlin, Germany she married James Clark.
They made their home in East Jordan.
Betty worked as the Tranportation coordinator for the Char-Em Intermediate School District.
She enjoyed crafts, flowers, interior design and house painting. She loved her job and the people who worked with her, but more than anything else she loved her family and friends.
Betty is survived by her husband, Jim Clark, of East Jordan three sons, Ryan (Danielle) Clark of East Jordan, Nathan (Katie) of Crystal Falls and Eric Clark of East Jordan; three granddaughters, Maddie and Kayla Clark of East Jordan, and Taylor Clark of Chystal Falls; her mother Barbara Novotny of Boyne City; one brother D. Bruce Shepard of Harbor Springs; four sisters, Reta Shepherd of Charlevoix, Kyla (Robert) Orsinger of Waukesha, Wis., Kathy (David) Bricker of Niceville, Fla, and Pam (Michael) Crick of Calumet and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father Donald Shepard on June 17, 1999.
Memorial may be given to Char-Em Intermediate School District.
