Joan L. Bowers, 81, of North Syracuse went to her final resting place on Saturday. Joan was born on March 3, 1938 the daughter of Mathew and Hazel Griesbach. Joan was a bus driver for the North Syracuse School district for 30 years. Joan was truly an amazing woman, devoted to her family. She enjoyed camping, traveling in her Winnebago with her beloved husband, Sonny and her dogs. She was predeceased by her loving husband George "Sonny" Bowers. Joan is survived by her children:, George (Darlene) Bowers, Denise (Mike) Haynes, Christine Christy, Cathleen Deryke, Steven (Laurie) Bowers, Theresa (John) Mills, Dennis Bowers, Timothy (Jenifer) Bowers, 28 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren, 6 great great grandchildren. Calling hours will be held at on Wednesday from 4-7pm at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 705 N. Main St, N. Syracuse. A funeral service will be held Thursday at 11am at the funeral home. Burial will take place at North Syracuse Cemetery.
