Jack D. Burns, age 75, of South Knoxville, born in Carthage, New York, passed away Sunday, March 10, 2019.

He was a veteran of the United States Navy and served aboard the USS Constellation as a photographer’s mate. He was the lighting director for Kennedy Maxwell.

Jack was preceded in death by his parents, James and Louise Burns and his brother, Jim Burns.

He is survived by his wife, Lynda Houser Burns; children, James D. (Jimmy) Burns and Melinda LeFevre; grandchildren, Melodie, Monica, and Mischa LeFevre; Justin and Katie Burns; great-grandchildren: Makinna and Aiden Brooks; Mikey LeFevre; Keegan, Cameron, and Jaxon Lee; and McKenzie Cooper; great-great-grandchildren: Nevaeh and Michael Selvidge; and a host of other family members and friends.

Family and friends will meet at East Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery, 2300 East Governor John Sevier Highway at 9:30 AM Friday, March 15, 2019 for a memorial service and inurnment. Full military honors will be provided by Volunteer State Honor Guard. There will also be a celebration of Jack’s life to be held at a later date.
