Edward Lionel Rushing, 71, of Badin, passed away March 10,
2019 in his home. His funeral service
will be 2 PM Wednesday, March 13, 2019 in the Stanly Funeral Home Chapel with
his high school classmate, Rev. Eddie Mauldin, officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Memorial
Park. The family will receive friends on
Tuesday evening at Stanly Funeral and Cremation Care from 6 until 8 PM.

Born May 2, 1947 in Stanly County, NC, he was the son of Ed
Rushing and Gleamer Arey Rushing and was the former owner and operator of
Rushing Jewelers in Albemarle. He was a
member of Badin United Methodist Church.
He began his career at Friedman's Jewelers then moved to doing
advertising work for Belk. Later he ran
stores for Leonard's Jewelers and Wooten's Jewelers before opening his own
Jewelry Store. He was formerly a member
of the Badin Volunteer Fire Dept.

He is survived by his wife Sylvia A. Rushing of the home,
daughter Lisa A. Page and husband Rodney of Badin, grandchildren Matthew Page,
Megan Page, and Morgan Page and great-granddaughter Lillian Page. A brother Charles Melvin Rushing preceded him
in death.

The family requests that memorials be made to Community Home
Care and Hospice, 1024 Albemarle Rd., Suite 904, Troy, NC, 27371 or to the
Stanly County Humane Society, 2049 Badin Rd., Albemarle, NC 28001.
