Dan Howard Murphy was born on March 11, 1948, in Fayette County, Kentucky, the son of the late James and Florene Ramey Murphy. He was united in marriage to Velda Scott Murphy, who survives of Corbin. He is also survived by two children, Velda Danielle Witt (Kevin) of Corbin and Jason Edward Murphy (Christy) of London, the brother of Russell Murphy, Sundie Mason, Judy Smith and Polly Murphy, all of Corbin, Sheila Hunt of Jamestown, Tennessee, Peggy Steele, of Corbin, and Loretta Johnson of London, nine grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, plus a host of other friends and relatives to mourn his passing.
He was a truck driver, a volunteer fireman for the West Knox Volunteer Fire Department and a member of Life House Church of God in London.
Dan Howard Murphy departed this life on Saturday, March 9, 2019, at Baptist Health – Corbin being 70 years, 11 months and 26 days of age. Burial in the Locust Grove Cemetery.
Funeral services for Dan Howard Murphy will be conducted at 3 PM Thursday in the Bowling Funeral Home Chapel with Eddie Elmore officiating.
