Mrs. Shirley Jean Burton, age 70, of Mountain Home, Arkansas, passed away Saturday, April 28, 2018, in Mountain Home. She was born October 19, 1947 in Steele, Missouri to Walter and Goldie (Cunningham) Akalski. On June 22, 1968, Shirley married John Burton, and remained a devoted wife for 48 years.

Mrs. Burton enjoyed shopping, gardening, reading, and cooking. She was an avid QVC shopper, but most of all she loved her family. She was a strong Christian and demonstrated her love for the Lord in everything she did. She retired from the California Highway Patrol before moving to Mountain Home with her late husband.

Mrs. Shirley Burton is survived by two sons, Carl Burton and Curtis Burton, both of Mountain Home, six grandchildren: Alex, Kayla, Savannah, Kyle, Ryan and Aidan, two great-grandchild, Londyn and Jaida all of Mountain Home and one sister; Jaw Lovetere of California. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.

Funeral services will be 3:00 p.m. Saturday, May 5, 2018, at Roller Funeral Home with Tom Williams officiating. Interment will be private.
