Daniel J.Molloy, P.E., 87, passed away suddenly on Saturday, November 20, 2010. He was born October 20, 1923 in New York City. Dan was a licensed civil engineer for the Port Authority of NY/NJ and was with Consolidated Edison (ED:NYSE) for more than 20 years. He was proud of his work on the George /Martha Washington Bridge and many buildings that dot the NYC /NJ skyline. Dan was an inventor, thinker, and a very funny man. He was a WW II Veteran and served in the South Pacific Theater of operations as a landing craft operator. He is survived by his beloved wife Kay of Ho-Ho-Kus, son Daniel J. Molloy, Jr. (Doreen) of Union City, daughters Kathleen Baier (George) of Cazenovia, NY and Ellen Teres (Mitchell) of Lebanon, six grandchildren, Elisa, Adam, Rebecca, Lauren, Jordana and David, one great-granddaughter, Samantha, as well as a large extended family. He was predeceased by his brother Jack (Kate) of Larchmont, NY. Visitation will be held at Becker Funeral Home, 219 Kinderkamack Road, Westwood, NJ on Friday November 26th from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday November 27th at 11 AM at St. Luke's Roman Catholic Church, 340 Franklin Turnpike, Ho-Ho-Kus, NJ. Interment will follow in the St. Luke's Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital or gift packages may be sent to troops serving overseas.
