Pauline Lambert Newman, 78, of Altavista, died on Thursday, March 7, 2019, at Autumn Care of Altavista. She was born on October 6, 1940, in Campbell County, a daughter of the late David Lambert Sr. and Elma Hodge Lambert. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and a retired employee of Ericsson. She is survived by a son, Jeffrey Glen Newman and his wife, Gloria, of Hurt; a daughter, Paula Newman Wilson and her husband, Mike, of Lynch Station; two sisters, Pearlie Mitchell of Gladys, and Frances Patterson and her husband, Thomas, of Hurt; three grandchildren, Dustin Newman, Josh Dawson, and Emily Wilson; one great grandson, Bentley R. Newman; and a number of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Krystal Dawn Newman; two sisters, Ada King and Betty Karnes; and two brothers, David Lambert Jr. and Edward Garnett Lambert. A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m., Monday, March 11, 2019, at Finch & Finch Chapel, in Altavista by the Rev. Bobby Brumfield with interment to follow at Altavista Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 7 until 8:30 p.m., Sunday, March 10, 2019, at Finch & Finch Funeral and Cremation Service, Altavista.
