Barton - Theresa A. "Tess" Turner, 94, of Barton, NY, passed away peacefully on November 25, 2018 at Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre, PA. She was born on November 12, 1924 the daughter of the late John and Therezia (Stefka) Zemanek. She was predeceased by her husband, Anderson Turner Sr.; daughter, Sandra Sue Seymour; grandson, Joseph Toomey; 4 brothers and 1 sister. Tess is survived by her 4 children, Anderson (Sherry) Turner, Roy "Moose" (Sonja) Turner, Thomas (Cindy) Turner, JoAnn (Gordon) Toomey; 2 sisters, Margaret Graizzaro and Elizabeth Meewes; many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Tess was a longtime member of the Tioga Center Baptist Church and the Eastern Star. She loved spending time with her family and especially being "nanny" to the grandchildren. She was known to always have a smile. She will be sadly missed.
A Funeral Service will be held at Richards Funeral Home, 3670 Waverly Rd, Owego, NY 13827 on Thursday, November 29, 2018 at 11:00am with Rev. Steve McElwein, officiating. Burial will be at a later date in Halsey Valley Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to call at Richards Funeral Home on Wednesday, November 28, 2018 from 4:00-6:00pm.
