Born Susan Doris Armstrong, May 19, 1949, Sue grew up in Potomac Maryland where she enjoyed a loving family, good friends and horseback riding. Following high school she attended Frostburg State University to study art having been inspired by her artist grandmother Doris Eliason. Sue maintained a lifelong love for art, photography, history and archaeology. She was an avid reader and collector surrounding herself with all kinds of art, collectables and antique furniture. Sue retired from the Montgomery County Maryland public library system after many years of service for the county.
Sue was preceded in death by her mother Claire Eliason Armstrong and father Richard Walter Armstrong who passed in June of 2018.
She is survived by her brother, Rick Armstrong (Andie) of Blacksburg, VA; and sister Jill Shultz (Terry) of Vancouver, WA.
The family would like to express special thanks to Diane Cooper who was Sue’s wonderful caregiver and friend during the last year of her life.
