KING, NC ~ Charles William Adkins, 72, passed away on Monday, March 26, 2018, at his home.
Born in Stokes County, he was the son of the late Robert William and Alma Lee Jones Adkins.
Mr. Adkins was retired from R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company after 33 years of service and was a member of Poplar Springs Church of Christ.
Surviving is his wife, Joan Fulp Adkins; sons: Brad William Adkins, Clint Slade Adkins and wife Letisha; stepsons: Brian Davis Hicks and wife Jaime and Bradley James Hicks and wife Amanda; sisters: Linda Adkins Church and Susan Adkins Warner; brothers: Robert Owsler Adkins and wife Carolyn and Richard Gray Adkins; grandchildren: Chase Adkins, Stone Adkins, Slade Adkins, Ezekial Adkins, William Adkins, Abigail Hicks, Hannah Hicks, and Gracie Hicks.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM-8:00 PM, Wednesday, March 28, 2018, at the Slate Funeral Home in King, NC.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM at Poplar Springs Church of Christ with Pastors Don Wallace and Ralph Sproles officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials are made to the Poplar Springs Church of Christ Sanctuary Renovations Fund, 7120 Highway 66 South, King, NC 27021; or to the King Outreach Mission, 413 Kingsway Dr., King, NC 27021.
