David Raymond Beavers, 83 of Tazewell, VA died Thursday, March 7, 2019 at Princeton Community Hospital. Born October 12, 1935 in Tazewell County, VA he was a son of the late Harman and Mattie Payne Beavers. He was a member of Riverside United Methodist Church. Mr. Beavers was a US Army Veteran and member of Sydney Coulling American Legion Post #133 of Tazewell, VA. He retired from Deskins Supermarkets where he worked over 35 years. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death a brother, Sam Jack Beavers.
He is survived by his wife, Peggy Dye Beavers; son, Mark Beavers and wife, Anna of Bluefield, WV; daughter, Lisa Horne and husband, Doug of Bluefield, VA; brother, Donald Beavers and wife, Ruth of Bluefield, VA; granddaughter, Amanda Perdue.
The family will receive friends from 12:30 until 2 PM Monday, March 11, 2019 at Peery & St. Clair Funeral Home in Tazewell, VA where funeral services will be conducted at 2 PM with the Reverend Kenneth Gillespie officiating. Burial will follow at Maplewood Cemetery in Tazewell, VA. Military graveside rites will be conducted by members of Barns Beavers VFW Post #7136 of Tazewell, VA and Virginia National Guard Honor Team of Gate City.
