Alan F. Belseth, age 66 of Willmar, died on March 8th at Rice Memorial Hospital in Willmar from respiratory complications.
A memorial visitation for Alan will be held on Tuesday March 13th from 1-3 PM at the Peterson Brothers Funeral Home in Willmar, with a brief time for sharing at 2:30 PM.
Alan Floyd Belseth was born on July 4th 1951 at the Montevideo Hospital. He was the son of Floyd and Solveig (Wick) Belseth. He was raised on the family farm near Milan Minnesota and attended school in Milan and later graduated from the Appleton HS. Alan spent the rest of his life living and working in Willmar.
Alan had the misfortune of contracting spinal meningitis at an early age, which limited his mental capacities; this did not, however, contain his passion for family, farming and visiting. He absolutely loved getting together and visiting, even strangers got the pleasure of Alan's company.
Alan loved everything green about farming, and that included the machinery. A red tractor had no parking place on his family farm. In fact, the only thing green that Alan didn't like was the Green Bay Packers!
Alan loved getting family pictures and displaying them in his apartment. He especially enjoyed the babies that have recently been added within the families.
Alan was able to live in his own apartment with assistance of the Presbyterian Family Foundation, and for that we are so very, very thankful.
Although life for Alan was difficult at times, his life here has left a mark on many people, and he and his stories will forever be remembered.
Alan will be missed by his sisters: Ann (James) Baldwin, Christine Belseth, Marilyn (Robert) Nordaune, and Valerie (Larry) Buysse; 10 nieces and nephews, 8 grand nieces and nephews, and many cousins.
