Milton Garretson Sanders, 100, of West Point, Arkansas passed away on Friday, March 8, 2019. He was born on October 24, 1918 in West Point to Thomas Milton Sanders and Lenora Garretson Sanders. He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Woodrow Spurgeon, Inez McSwain, and Ellanore Jackson; and two brothers, Bob Sanders and Jake Sanders.

Milton was a farmer his whole life. He was a member of the West Point Baptist Church for over 80 years. He was a member of the West Point City Council for over 60 years and a member of Masonic Lodge #49 in Searcy for over 50 years. Milton also served on the West Point School Board before they became a part of Searcy School District. He loved spending time with his grandchildren, great-grandchildren; and his great-great grandson.

He is survived by his wife of 77 years, Minerva Shafer Sanders; daughter Susan Person (Billy); three grandchildren, Kellie Burnett (Terry), Nina Taylor (Kevin), and Jill Fouse (Tim); four great-grandchildren, Garretson Taylor (Brandi), Molly Jones (Timothy), Macy Fouse and Meg Fouse; one great-grandson, Willis Garretson Taylor; brother, William Sanders (Ramona) of Harrisonburg, Virginia; and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 10, 2019 at Roller-Daniel Funeral Home in Searcy. Graveside service will be 3:00 p.m. on Monday, March 11, 2019 at West Point Cemetery in West Point.
