Danny Ray Kelly, 70, of Fort Worth passed away Thursday, May 16, 2013.
Service: 12:30 p.m. Thursday at Laurel Land Funeral Home of Fort Worth. Interment: 2:15 p.m. in Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery.
Danny was born to Fred Kelly and Della Piland Kelly on Dec. 4, 1942, in Fort Worth. He graduated from Polytechnic High School in 1961. He married the love of his life, Donna Ruth Perez Kelly, in 1963.
Danny was passionate about his country, and loved honoring those who served in the military. Danny received the Bronze Star medal serving in the Vietnam War as a sergeant with the Operations and Intelligence Specialist for Headquarters Company, 2nd Brigade, 25th Infantry Division.
Survivors: His wife of 49 years, Donna Ruth Perez Kelly of Fort Worth; son, Kevin Kelly and his wife, Kristy Mills Kelly, of Katy; son, Philip Kelly and his wife, Amy Webb Kelly, of Frisco; and brother, Larry Kelly and Kathy Law Kelly of Benbrook. He is also survived by three grandchildren, Patrick Kelly, Phoebe Kelly and Julianne Kelly. Other family members include niece, Jennifer Kelly Ayers and husband, Scott, of Mansfield; nephew, Ryan Kelly and wife, Ashley, of Plano; brother-in-law, Jimmy Perez and wife, T.J., of North Richland Hills; sisters-in-law, Peggy Dye and Carole Ewing, both of White Settlement; and numerous other extended family members.
I will say of the Lord, "He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust." Psalm 91:2.
