Mr. White passed away Tuesday, March 5, 2019, at Integris Hospice House in Oklahoma City. He was born Sept. 10, 1941, in Watonga to Frank Edward and Carrie Mae White. He came to El Reno as a small child and had resided here since.

Louis was a graduate of Booker T. Washington School. He served his country in the U.S. Army during the Cuban Missile Crisis. After his discharge, he returned to El Reno and married Margaret June Allen.

Louis worked in his community as a Little League baseball coach and as the treasurer for the Booker T. Washington All School and Community Committee. He enjoyed playing golf, was an avid bowler and enjoyed watching his favorite football team, the Dallas Cowboys.

Louis began his career in the tank and radiator repair shop at Tinker Air Force Base in Midwest City. He believed in higher education and improving his and his family’s life. He worked full time and attended evening college courses to earn an associate in arts degree from Redlands Community College (formerly El Reno College) and a bachelor of Business Administration degree from the University of Central Oklahoma (formerly Central State University) in Edmond. His degree afforded many opportunities to excel in his career. He received several promotions and retired as a branch chief after 38 years of government service.
