Daphne Adassa Murray

Daphne Adassa Murray, Age 70 passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 17th surrounded by her family. Born to George and Atillda Allison of Rock Clarendon, Jamaica. She is survived by her children- daughter (__), and her son (__), along with his wife (__). grand-children: (5 grandchildren); Brothers (5 brothers) and Sisters (3 sisters). She was preceded in death by her parents and brother Lynval.
After graduating from Rock All Age school, she attended Jamaica School of Agriculture and later Weber State University. For several years Daphne served diligently as an Agricultural extension officer with the Jamaican Ministry of Agriculture, and as a school teacher. In her declining years she returned to Jamaica from the USA and worked as a respected Guidance Counselor at Hatfield Junior High where she was an advocate for children’s rights. An accomplished cook and baker in Jamaican cuisine, she enjoyed singing, and gardening in her spare time.
Funeral services for Daphne will be held on Thursday January 24, at 11 am in the Elk Run Chapel of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints located at 3610 South 8400 West Magna Utah. Interment follows at the Valley View Memorial Cemetery. The family wishes to express a special thanks to the care team of Community Nursing Services who took such great care of their dear belated mother during her last days.
