Doris attended Catholic School in Prior, OK. She married the love of her life, Roy Lee Walker on October 23, 1954. After living in Atoka County for some time, they relocated to Durant in 1960. Doris and Roy spent 33 wonderful years together until his passing on April 6, 1987. She worked as a waitress for most of her life and loved playing bingo and watching westerns.
Preceding her in death are her husband, Roy Lee Walker; son, Tiny (Rusty) Walker; parents, George and Sinda White; brothers, Johnny White, Doyle White, and James White; sisters, Christine Jorgensen, Beatrice Hill and Charlene Mauldin.
Loved ones left to cherish Doris’s memory include; her 5 daughters, Kathy Kelley and husband, Charles of Durant, OK; Carolyn Waller of Durant, OK; Patsy Airington and husband James of Durant, OK; Doris Clements and husband, May of Durant, OK and Frankie Pennington; 21 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren, and 9 great-great grandchildren along with other extended family members and dear friends.
Services will be held 2:00 PM Sunday, March 10, 2019 at Brown’s Funeral Service Chapel in Durant with Will Airington officiating. Interment will follow in Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Armstrong with Heath Kelley, Coby Kelley, Brian Gray, Bobby Airington, Dean Pennington, Chris Jefferson and John Webb serving as pallbearers. The family will accept friends Saturday evening from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
