Mrs. Martha Ann Clark Purifoy Fleming, age 92, a resident of 807 E. 8th Street, Washington, died Tuesday, February 3, 2015 at her home.

Memorial services will be 7:00 pm Thursday, February 5, 2015 at Covenant Community Church and will be conducted by Pastor Johnnie Houston, Sr.

Mrs. Fleming was born in Pitt County on September 28, 1922 to the late Florence Clark. She married Oscar Purifoy who preceded her in death and then married James Fleming who also preceded her in death.

Survivors include, three daughters, Gloria Moore and husband Danny of Chocowinity, Sandra Houston and husband Johnnie, Sr. of Blounts Creek, Dottie Mayo and husband Jesse of Grimesland, close family friend, Linda Spencer, six grandchildren, Laura Moore, April Schmidt and husband Shane, Johnnie Houston, Jr. and wife Elizabeth, Mindy Rice and husband Brendan, Bobbie Ricks and husband Stewart, Monica Fulford and husband Clifton and twelve great grandchildren, Harrison, Joshua, Tanner, Evan, Jacob, Noah, Hunter, Lauren Kelly, Cassidy, Tiffany, Marshall and Clifton, Jr. She was preceded in death by three sons, Oscar Purifoy, James F. Purifoy, Noah S. Purifoy, one daughter, Elizabeth Purifoy, one brother, Paul Stillwell and one sister, Minnie Watson.
