On Wednesday, March 6,2019, George Wallace Tilley, loving husband and father of three children passed away at the age of 82 surrounded by his family.
George was born December 1, 1936 in Crockett, TX to George and Pauline Tilley. He grew up in Spring Branch and received an Associate Technical degree in Electronics from the University of Houston. He served many roles in the oil and gas industry for over 40 years, spending most of his time at Geosource Inc., where he became president. It allowed him to travel the world and visit over forty countries. He had a great work ethic and truly relished the lasting friendships he made during this time.
George loved the outdoors and made his home in Schulenburg and later retired in Fredericksburg. He was happiest when he was fishing or hunting with his family and friends. He had a passion for cooking and was famous for his brisket and beans. He loved spending a day on his tractor or working in one of his many workshops, he could fix anything!
George is preceded in death by his parents, George and Pauline Tilley, brother Paul, sister Cindy and grandson Trey. He leaves behind his wife of 45 years, Arlene; three children Wallace and wife Holly, Crystal Mills and husband Terry, and Jeff and wife Adriana. Grandchildren Shellie Divin and Jason Thiele, Josh and Jacob Tilley, Craig, Christina and Catherine Tilley. Great grandchildren Lillie and Cole Divin, Josh Jr. and Jaxson Tilley, Trey, Archer and Jet Tilley, Levi Thiele and Jackson Plank plus a host of loving extended family members and dear friends.
A visitation is planned for Monday, March 11, 2019 from 11 to 1pm immediately followed by the funeral ceremony at 1pm. It will be held at the Woodlawn Funeral Home Chapel on 1101 Antoine Drive, Houston.
