Daisy Mildred Johnson, 87, of Winston Salem, formerly of Rockingham County, passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday, February 13, 2019.

A graveside service was held at 2:00 PM, Sunday, February 17, 2019 at Greenview Cemetery with Rev. Angie Toth officiating.

Daisy was born in Rockingham County to the late Matthew Berkley Dickens Sr. and Lottie Mae Lillard Dickens. She was a dedicated and loving mother and grandmother. A true people person, she loved flowers, blooming trees and racing. Most of all she loved her family and friends she will be greatly missed.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, 3 brothers and 3 sisters and a grandchild.

She is survived by her daughter, Sylvia Lovelace; grandsons, Daryl Matherly (Jennifer), Kevin Matherly (Kim); great grandchildren, Jonathan and Matthew Matherly, Blake and Brett Meyers, Trae Cooper and her beloved pet Buddy as well as a large extended family.
