Tommy was born in Pikeville, Tennessee to the late Earl and Hannah Smith Douglas. He was a 1971 graduate of Kirkman Technical School. Tommy owned and operated Douglas Cabinets for many years and after retiring, went to work for Dakota Concepts. He was a former member of Middle Valley Church of Christ and currently attends North Hamilton Church of Christ. Tommy loved the outdoors and enjoyed biking and kayaking.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Johnny Douglas.
Tommy is survived by his wife of 46 years, Kathy Brown Douglas; sons, Karl (Joy) Douglas, Jr. and Richard (Amanda) Douglas; grandchildren, Thomas Douglas, III, Kyle Douglas, Chris Douglas, Austin Douglas, Haley and Robert Moore; great grandson, Mason; sisters, Earlene (Randy) McKinney, Willene (Jerry) Dagnan and Carolyn Lasater; sister-in-law, Betty "Rea" (Larry) Clements; many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 4 to 8 pm on Thursday, March 7, and 10:30 to 11:30 am on Friday at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life service for Tommy will follow at 11:30 am on Friday, at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home with Minister Larry Clements officiating. Burial will be in Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
