Frederick Miles Becker, 90, of Browerville, passed away on May 31, 2018, in Clarissa. Funeral services for Fred will be held on Wednesday, June 6, 2018, 11:00 a.m., at Christ the King Catholic Church in Browerville with Fr. Tom Becker and Fr. Mitchell Bechtold con-celebrating. Friends may begin calling on Tuesday, June 5, 2018, 4:00 – 7:00 p.m., at Christ the King Catholic Church in Browerville and one hour prior to the funeral at the church. Rosary will be held at 3:45 with parish prayers at 7:00 p.m. Interment will be held at Christ the King Catholic Cemetery, Browerville. Fred was born on March 21, 1928 on a farm east of Browerville to Louis and Anna (Host) Becker. He attended country school through the 8th grade. After school he worked with his father as a carpenter. On June 15, 1949 he married Dorothy Polak at St Peter’s Catholic Church in Browerville. In 1961 he started his own company Becker Construction Co. and built houses, churches and other buildings throughout the area. He built the clubhouse at Sylvan Shores and so many homes there. Fred loved the challenge of specialty building. Fred loved his church and served as a trustee and many other positions. He was a member of the K.C.s in Browerville Fred thoroughly enjoyed hunting and fishing around home and out West, especially Montana. He started with a couple of friends and it grew to a large group and later included several of his own family who go regularly every year. He loved traveling throughout the U.S., Venezuela, Alaska, Canada. Since Dorothy’s death he continued to reside at Central Todd Country Care Center enjoying the staff, new and old friends and family. We often heard the comment “Fred, where are you going today?”
