Cecilia Grovene Harris DeBord - 83 passed away Monday, June 4, 2007 in Amarillo, Texas. Services will be held at 2:30 PM on Thursday, June 7, 2007 at the First Baptist Church with Rev. Jason Stone, pastor of the church officiating. Burial will follow in Stratford Cemetery.
Cecilia DeBord was born March 27, 1924 in Hedley, Texas
to Cecil Leroy Harris & Louise Howell Harris. Cecilia, affectionately known as "Punk" grew up in the community of Ring and graduated from Quail High School. On October 12, 1940 she married Clarence L DeBord who preceded her in death in 1984. She spent much of her early-married life as a homemaker before working for 20 years as a teacher's aide and librarian for the Stratford schools. Among her favorite pastimes was entertaining and cooking for friends and family.
Survivors include: four sons, Brady Lee DeBord; two sisters, Anita DeBord of Stratford and Ruby Comer of Borger; five grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association, PO Box 50433, Amarillo, TX 79159 or to a favorite charity.
