Audrey Ramlo, age 82, of Hendricks, MN passed away on Tuesday, February 5, 2019 at the Hendricks Nursing Home in Hendricks, MN. Funeral Service will be 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 9, 2019 at Christ Lutheran Church in Hendricks, MN. Burial will be in the East Hendricks Cemetery in Hendricks, MN. Visitation will one hour prior to the service at the Church. Houseman Funeral Home, Birk Chapel of Hendricks is entrusted with the arrangements.
Audrey Colleen Ramlo was born in Brookings, South Dakota on June 5, 1936 to parents Alfred and Grace (Herrick) Karstens. She was raised on a farm near Elkton, SD and attended her freshman year of high school in Brookings and then she graduated from Elkton High School in 1954. Audrey then attended Anchor School of Nursing in St. Paul, MN and she graduated with an RN Degree in 1957. During her years as a RN she worked in various areas from Minneapolis and Albert Lea, MN to Van Nuys, CA and all around the Hendricks area.
On August 8, 1959 Audrey was united in marriage to David Peter Ramlo at the Calvary Lutheran Church in Hendricks. Together they were blessed with five children.
Audrey enjoyed playing cards, sewing, baking cookies and collecting angels. Gardening and canning were also something that Audrey enjoyed as well as watching and feeding the birds. Attending grandchildren’s events throughout the years was fun for both Audrey and David. Time spent with family and friends was very important especially time spent with her grandchildren.
She was a member of Christ Lutheran Church where she taught Sunday school and was the Care Group Coordinator for 20 years. She was also a member of the Ladies Legion Auxiliary and was a Den mother for cub scouts.
Grateful for having shared Audrey’s life are her children: Cynthia (Jerry) Warzecha of St. Peter, MN, Kirk (Ricki) Ramlo of Jamestown, ND, Jon (Lon Clemensen) Ramlo of Sioux Falls, SD, Krista Ramlo of Midway, GA and Byron (Carla) Ramlo of White, SD; 13 grandchildren: Rene’, Jared, Trevor and Karre’ Warzecha, Brandon, Jordon, Amber and Kathryn Ramlo, Garret Strickland, Mason, Kylie, Mattilyn and Kyrsten Ramlo; one great-grandchild, Teagan Ramlo; one sister, Rozella (Rose) Potthast of Brookings, SD; one sister-in-law, Ellen Peirce of Sparks, NV; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and one grandson, Scott Warzecha.
