Herrin- Joe Shelton, age 86, of Herrin, passed away at 4:00 pm on Tuesday, March 5, 2019 at Herrin Hospital.
Joe was born in Hurst on July 20, 1932, the son of Herman and Flora Mae (Fann) Shelton.
He married Shirley Jean Dailey in Marion on December 23, 1951. She preceded him in death on May 24, 2001. Prior to his retirement, Joe worked as a diesel mechanic.
Survivors include his son, Grandchildren, Great Grandchildren, Niece
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, son- Bobby Shelton, brothers, and one sister.
Memorial graveside services will be held at 1:00pm on Tuesday, March 12, 2019 at Egyptian Memorial Gardens in Energy. Family and friends are asked to gather at the cemetery at 12:30pm for a time of visitation and memories, prior to the start of the memorial service. Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin is assisting the family with final arrangements.
