Priscilla Thornton, 81, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 3, 2019, surrounded by her loving family.

Her life here on earth is complete -- a life of love, joy, struggles, that she balanced with style, grace and quiet strength. Priscilla was born May 28, 1937, the sixth child of Arthur and Hattie Lee Crawford. She was educated in the Chattanooga School System and went on to earn a Theology degree in pastoral studies from Unity Theological Seminary in Chattanooga, TN. She retired from the City of Chattanooga in 1997 after many years working as the Human Services Volunteer Coordinator. A woman of great faith, she truly enjoyed her walk with the Lord. Her life and ministry impacted many. She acknowledged her call to the ministry in 1979 and continued to serve the Lord for the rest of her life. She was a member of New Mount Sinai Missionary Baptist Church where she served as an Associate Minister alongside her husband.

Survivors include her children, Kittie (Geoffrey) Turner, Michael Crawford, Sr., Andre (Karin) Steele; grandchildren, Tricie Luedke of Lawrenceville, GA, Michael Crawford, Jr., Miguel Crawford, Cecil Hanner Jr., Tiffany Tuggle, Andre Collier, Zaneka Steele, and Chris Hanner; 22 great-grandchildren; a host of other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be on Sunday, March 10, at noon at Taylor Funeral Home with the funeral to follow 1:30 p.m. in the chapel with Pastor Gilbert Aikens as the eulogist.

Burial will be in Monday, March 11, at 10 a.m. in Chattanooga National Cemetery.
