Alma's Obituary, June 9, 1983:

Alma C. Iverson, 82, a longtime Belgrade resident, died Thursday at the Gallatin County Rest Home.

She was born Dec 30, 1900 at Etna, Minn., to Martin and Mina (Locken) Narum. She attended schools in Fillmore County, Minn., Spring Valley High School, and graduated from Fosston, Minn., High School. She also attended Moorhead State Teachers College in Minnesota, later teaching in schools in North Dakota and Minnesota.

On June 10, 1924, she married Edwin Iverson at her parents' home in Fosston. They moved to Belgrade in 1945 where they had lived ever since. She was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church in Columbia Township, Minn., where she taught Sunday school, sang in the choir and was a member of the Ladies Aid. She also was a member of the Columbia Community Club and served as an advisor for the Minnesota State Board of Education.

In Belgrade, Mrs. Iverson was known for giving much of herself to many people through various activities. She was active in both the Federated and Christian Missionary Alliance churches, 4-H, the Belgrade Women's Club, the County Federation of Women's Clubs, and East Gallatin Club. A member of the Sons of Norway, Iverson taught conversational Norwegian in Bozeman in 1975. In addition, she was a lifetime member of the Belgrade Senior Citizens Association.

In 1974, she and her husband celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with family and friends. Today would have marked the couple's 59th wedding anniversary.

Survivors include her husband of Belgrade; three sons, Harley of Helena, Loren of Bozeman and Ronald of Helena; one daughter, Mrs. Marvin (Marilyn) Lundberg of Dillon; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and many relatives in Minnesota and California.
