Oldest son of Jessie Henry and Albert Eugene Lewis, Shelby never married and never had children. He earned a degree after high school and went into business.

He enjoyed his business ventures and liked to shoot skeet with his brothers. He also enjoyed his time alone. He was a shy man who tended to mumble, but he had a booming laugh when he got tickled.

I remember having lunch with him and my dad at a boating club. He said it was one of his favorites because they had really good fish and he really liked fish.

He was a thrifty man. He would collect newspapers and recycle them. He lived within his means and didn't splurge.

He had owned a Western Auto within Western Kentucky. He was, at one time, a partial owner of the Reidland Clothing Company in Reidland, Kentucky, with a business partner.

He was cremated and some of his ashes were sprinkled with his mother, Jessie, in Rosebud in Sturgis.
He loved her very much.
