Bert was born Oct. 10, 1932, in Georgetown, to William Clifford and Gladys Cook Johnson. She married Joseph L. Jones Sr. on May 4, 1951, in Danville. He preceded her in death June 17, 2011.
Surviving are six children, Joseph L. (Mary) Jones Jr. of College Grove, Tenn., Charles “Cliff” (Michelle) Jones of Mitchell, Ind., Rick A. (Dorrie) Jones of Westville, Mitchell Lee Jones of Westville, Penny M. (Russell) Nelk of Westville and Kirk J. Jones of Westville; one sister, Wanda Barney of Georgetown; nine grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her two sisters, Edna Hewes and Patricia Songer.
Bert loved playing bingo, shooting sporting clays and traveling with her husband. She enjoyed motorcycle rides and was a member of Pleasure Riders Motorcycle Club.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 9, 2019, at Robison Chapel, Catlin, with Phil Miller officiating. Burial will be in Partlow Cemetery, Armstrong. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday, March 9, 2019, at Robison Chapel, Catlin.
