Russell Stephens age 94 of Maryville went home to be with the Lord on Monday, March 4, 2019.

Russell was a member of Pleasant Hill UMC, an avid fisherman, gardener and loved to camp. He dearly loved his family, especially his grandchildren. He loved animals and always made sure that his three girls had a variety of dogs, cats, and horses to make part of the family. He was a big fan of the UT Men’s Basketball Team and always looked forward to watching them. When he retired from his appliance repair business, he and his wife Helen loved to travel. Russell was a man of few words, but his actions and kind nature spoke for him. He was always ready to help whenever someone had a need. He could fix almost anything and shared that talent with family, friends and community members. He had a mischievous smile and twinkling blue eyes that made him many friends. Anyone who knew him would tell you, “He was a good man.”

Russell was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Stephens; daughter, Anita Bailey; parents, Richard and Addie Stephens; brothers, Max, Tom and Bob; sisters, Mary, Myrtle, Mae and Maude.

Survived by daughters and son-in-law, Barbara Stephens, Teresa Hair and Tim; grandchildren, Jonathan Hair and Victoria, Whitney Hair; brother, J R Stephens and Rose; sister-in-law, Margaret Treadwell; several nieces and nephews; former business partner and long time friend, Tom Pack.
