Nick Dean Breedlove, age 57, passed away Monday, Aug. 29, 2005, in a Kingsport hospital following a brief illness.

Born in Tazewell County, he was the son of the late Evelyn Elizabeth Lowe. In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his stepfather, Carl Lowe Jr.; his grandparents, Sam & Ollie Breedlove; and one brother, Ken Breedlove.

He was a U.S. Army Vietnam veteran, serving as a helicopter gunner with over 1,100 flight hours and was owner of NiKKi Construction, Inc.

Mr. Breedlove is survived by his wife of 34 years, Mrs. Freda Breedlove; one daughter, Nicole Barrett and husband Kent of Witten Valley; one son, Samuel Breedlove and wife Heather of Pounding Mill.

Four sisters, Patricia Smith and husband Grat of Richlands, Susie Rasnake and husband Mark of Pounding Mill, Becky Stiltner and husband David of Pounding Mill and Norma (Button) Hale and husband David of Richlands.

One brother, Larry (Doodle) Lowe of Richlands; three grandchildren, Nicholas Barrett, Kendal Barrett and Samuel Isaiah Breedlove.

One uncle, Lawrence Breedlove; and one aunt, Norma Gilbert, both of Cedar Bluff; and a host of friends, employees and co-workers also survive.

Funeral services for Mr. Nick Dean Breedlove will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 1, 2005, in the Singleton Funeral Service Chapel in Cedar Bluff, with Brother Ravin Fields Jr. officiating.

Burial will follow in the Greenhills Memory Gardens Cemetery at Claypool Hill, Va.

Pallbearers will be Kent Barrett, Samuel Breedlove, Bobby Puckett, James Phipps, Oley Damron, Shannon Burnette, Cork Dye and Doodle Lowe.

Honorary pallbearers will be Buford Myers, George Childress, Tom Sargent and Gene Helbert. Military graveside rites will be conducted by the American Veterans Honor Guard Association.

The family will receive friends at the Singleton Funeral Service in Cedar Bluff from 6-9 p.m. Wednesday.
