GRIFFITH, Pauline G., entered into rest on Wednesday, May 30, 2007, at the home of her daughter in San Jose, California. Born on September 8, 1913, in LeRoy, Illinois, to Oscar and Carrie (Peyton) Gasaway, she was 93 years old and lived in San Jose for almost 10 years. Pauline was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Gordon W. Griffith, Sr., who she married on December 24, 1941, following Pearl Harbor. Mrs. Griffith, being an "Air Force wife" had the opportunity to live in several locales, but fell in love with the desert and with the state of California upon her arrival in 1953, from Illinois, and never wanted to leave. Mrs. Griffith and her husband were residents of Lancaster for over 40 years. For several years, Mrs. Griffith was a secretary in the aerospace industry working for Ryan Aeronautics, and Rocketdyne - North American/Rockwell at Edwards Air Force Base. She completed her working career as a Real Estate Agent and Broker in Lancaster, Calif. Loving mother of Marilyn (Mrs. Don) Rodgers of San Jose, Calif., Gordon W. Griffith, Jr., of Antelope Valley, Calif., and Thomas Lee Griffith of Escondido, Calif., cherished grandmother of Thomas E.F. Griffith of Los Angeles, Calif., and Wayne Paul Griffith of El Cajon, Calif., beloved sister of Lucille (Mrs. Hugo) Riva of Buzzards Bay, Mass., and cousin of Mrs. Edith Wilson of Gridley, Illinois. Family and friends are invited to attend viewing from 5 to 7 p.m., Wednesday, June 6, 2007, at Mumaw Funeral Home, 44663 Date Avenue, Lancaster, CA 93534. Graveside service will be held at 10 a.m., Thursday, June 7, 2007, at Lancaster Memorial Cemetery, 111 E. Lancaster Blvd., Lancaster, CA 93535. Arrangements by Mumaw Funeral Home.
