She was born December 19, 1924, and was the child of William Shelton and Dora Cobbler Shelton. In addition to her parents she was predeceased by three sisters, Grace Shelton Grogan, Elizabeth Shelton Davis, Mollie Allen Doyle and two brothers, Joe Shelton and Billy Shelton. She was also predeceased by her grandson, Robert Bruce Robertson.
She was a lifelong resident of Henry County and a 1943 graduate of Spencer-Penn School. She was very active in civic organizations and a key member of her church choir for many years. Freda was married to Morton Hundley Robertson from 1943 until his death in 2003.
She is survived by a son, Robert H. Robertson and wife, Jean Glasgow Robertson of Roanoke, Va.; a granddaughter, Dr. Jean V. Goode and husband William B. IV, great-granddaughter, Ann-Robert Goode all of Richmond, Va., and special niece, Martha Jenkins of Bassett and nephew, Jim Robertson and wife Beth of Ridgeway.
Services will be private at Roselawn Abbey, Martinsville, Va.
