George A. Popp Jr., 63, of Fairport Harbor, Ohio, a retired welder for Uniroyal Corp. in Painesville Township, died Wednesday, April 2, 1986 at LakeEast Hospital in Painesville after a brief illness.
He was born May 22, 1922, in Fairport Harbor, and lived there all his life.
He served in the Navy during World War II and had received a Purple Heart.
He was a member of Hungarian Reformed Church and a former member of the church consistory. He retired from Uniroyal in 1977.
Survivors are his wife; a son and daughter, both of the home; and two sisters. A sister is deceased. Reverend Louis Medgyesi of Hungarian Reformed Church, 607 Plum Street, Fairport Harbor, officiated the funeral services on Saturday, April 5, 1986. Burial was in the Riverside Cemetery, Painesville, Ohio by Potti Funeral home.
